‘Dutch Coffee’ is a collaboration between Korea Randonneurs president Jan and Routes Busan initiator Bas, both from the Netherlands. The road to the west is Jan’s favourite way to get out of Busan. Understandable, because in recent years, most traffic has moved to newer, bigger roads – good news for cyclists.
The Dutch theme comes back in the polders (land reclaimed from water) around Junam Reservoir, riding in river areas and the low elevation profile: when there are climbs, they are short. The course goes inland several times, to introduce to the rider a variety of landscapes and country lanes, never seen by most Randonneurs.
To do this ride, you need to be a club member. Registering is easy, and for many it has been the start of taking on long distance cycling and exploring Korea by bike. If you finish within the time limit of 13:24, you can receive a certificate to celebrate your accomplishment.
