This course begins at Nopodong subway station/intercity bus terminal, convenient if you are coming in from out of town. Head north past the SPO1 velodrome, through some smaller villages and rice fields. Around 6 kilometers in the ride the climbing begins, up a beautiful gravel road with some great views of the valley below. Exit the gravel onto a steep road climb, before finding more gravel to ride on for about 5 kilometers. A fantastic winding road descent takes you back down into Cheolma, enjoy the farming landscape while you get ready for more gravel. After climbing over a road pass, descend into Gijang. From there, you are back on the gravel for 11 kilometers, part of the mountainbiking cross country course from the 2002 Asian Games held in Busan. The course goes back down into Cheolma, following a nice little stream to a small road climb that will take you back to the velodrome, and to the finish.
