Thé bucketlist ride of every cyclist in Korea. This route is not the easiest nor the hardest way to get to Korea’s capital, but offers a good mix between river riding, quiet countryside and some climbing. It passes the Sobaeksan mountains right between the National Parks of Songnisan and Woraksan, to connect to the wide bike roads of Chungju and Seoul. Our favorite part of this ride is the area before and after the town of Ubo-myeon, around a third of the way in. Crossing the old train tracks of the Mugungwha train to Andong a couple of times, you’ll be traveling through the lesser traveled countryside in the green heart of Korea like a diesel train. The finish is a rest area on the Han River. From there, it’s easy to navigate to the different bus- or train terminals if you were to head back to Busan. Of course this route could also be ridden in the opposite direction: from Seoul to Busan.

This destination is on the Busan-Seoul Mugunghwa train line with bike racks. Check here to see what are your options.
