Gwangju is a city of great importance in Korean history. It’s here that the people stood up to their government in the eighties and brought democracy to Korea. There are countless things to see and do in and around Gwangju, but the nicest one might be riding your bike by the Seomjingang River bike trail in Jeollanam-do province, because of it’s majestic views. This route uses the bike paths in Jinju, along the Seomjin River and in the Gwangju area. If you’re up for a more challenging course or have more time on your hands, we highly recommend go off route and go by Namhae Island or through the mountainous Jirisan area.
